Seventh

[George appears on screen, face as neutral as ever. She's sitting in a gross, olive green booth, a plate of food in front of her. She doesn't seem to notice it. In fact, if anybody cares to look closely, it's pretty clear it's been sitting there a while. It's probably not even hers.]

I don't suppose anybody wants a tour of ghost city Seattle, huh?

Yeah. Back home I looked different to the living. Here...well, I guess the powers-that-be or whoever don't care. Not as if anybody's going to recognize me.

And...yeah. I guess. Kinda sucks that I had to deal with all the accidents and shit, though. Perfectly healthy people dying because they slip on some ice? Not fair, man.

Two. Five others could have died though.

[He leads her down the road along the Samegawa. Mostly because he wants to see it again. But it's KIND OF on the way.]

But you're alive now... Just with the same powers?

[Or still "undead"? Was there such a thing here?

Minato nodded once since he could see how things were unfair or unjust. Death was so frightening because it was so ordinary. It's hard because one can feel so helpless too when it came to death even if it was so normal.]

When you go home, how long will you be doing this?

[identity profile] akapeanut.livejournal.com 2011-12-30 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
I think I'm still undead. Remember when I hit my head going after that frog? It didn't really hurt.

Until I get my lights.

[Translation: she doesn't really know.]

[She looks down at the water. For some reason it makes her want to go fishing, even in the cold weather.]

You saved those hypothetical reapers some trouble, then.

[identity profile] eatsyourscience.livejournal.com 2011-12-30 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
They wouldn't have died in this world.

[identity profile] akapeanut.livejournal.com 2011-12-30 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Huh?

[What then? Mars?]

[identity profile] eatsyourscience.livejournal.com 2011-12-30 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
[Souji reaches up like he's going to adjust a pair of glasses he's not wearing.]

A few people had access to another world inside the TV. The victims were thrown in there and died.

[identity profile] akapeanut.livejournal.com 2011-12-30 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Oh.

[She'll just...roll with that.]

I guess that might not be in our jurisdiction. I dunno if any reapers covered anything like...that.

[Pause.]

So, literally inside the TV?

[identity profile] eatsyourscience.livejournal.com 2011-12-30 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
We got to it through the TV. So we say it's inside.

The bodies would turn up here, though.

[identity profile] akapeanut.livejournal.com 2011-12-30 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
How'd you figure any of that out?

[identity profile] eatsyourscience.livejournal.com 2011-12-30 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
Trial and error. [They're leaving the riverbed now and he steers them toward Junes.]

It took a long time.

[identity profile] jivitadana.livejournal.com 2011-12-30 08:49 am (UTC)(link)
[Minato wondered about that. But then again, he never met anyone that was technically considered 'undead' before either, only those who had died and then were supposedly alive now. Or seemed alive. That was the easiest way to address it.]

Can I ask what lights?

... While you're here, can you tell who has died and is now alive again?
